Asian Spirit resumes flight to San Jose de Buenavista, Antique
SAN JOSE, Antique -- Local officials here welcomed the come back flight of Asian Spirit under the new management of Amb. Alfredo M. Yao, President and CEO.
Asian Spirit resumed its flight last June 27, 2008 at the Evelio B. Javier airport in Brgy Funda-Dalipe, San Jose de Buenavista.
Amb. Alfredo M. Yao along with Capt. Eliseo Tabora, EVP/COO, Asian Spirit staff and some passengers arrived to grace the activity.
According to Mr. Lancelot M. Tondares, CSM/Asian Spirit, Antique: "this is another chance for us to be of service to the Antiqueños."
"Asian Spirit will also carry the banner of Antique and we are very optimistic that we can sustain the flights here. We can achieved this through the support of the local officials and the Antiqueños," Mr. Tondares said.
Asian Spirit stopped its operation for the last two years due to low passengers load.
"This is good news to all the Antiqueños", said Congressman Exequiel B. Javier adding "this will lessen the burden of Antiqueños in traveling to the Iloilo Airport as well as save time and money." Congressman Javier in his message said that he is preparing his initiative for the improvement of the EBJ airport, such as to put up a terminal building, tower and extension of the runway.
Governor Salvacion Z. Perez thanked the management of Asian Spirit for resuming its flight to Antique. Perez said, Asian Spirit is like sunshine and brought cheer despite the disaster that also hit the province. This development, Perez said, will help the economy of the province.
Perez said the provincial government is committed to support Asian Spirit by having all provincial employees on official travel take Asian Spirit flights.
San Jose de Buenavista Mayor Rony Molina also expressed his gratitude as Asian Spirit becomes part of the development of his town.
The management of Asian Spirit, on the other hand, committed to be the partner of the province in development. According to Amb. Alfredo M. Yao, "Antique has so much potential with lots of interesting destination". The province has more to offer and they are very excited to be a partner in economic and tourism growth. The management of Asian Spirit will also help improve and promote the province.
Asian Spirit also extended help to the province particularly on the victims of flashfloods by way of donating P200,000, relief goods from ABS-CBN Sagip Kapamilya and boxes of noodles.
Asian Spirit will fly direct from Manila to Antique at 1 p.m. and Antique to Manila at 2:40 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
