…as CBCP ally recommends excommunication of 'pro-choice' Catholic docs
Heightened row of the Catholic Church against pending family bills in Congress has now caused Catholic politician-proponents to fall out of the Church's grace. With issues and arguments far from being resolved, latest news from the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) seemingly now have in the same league the country's Catholic doctors.
In a news release posted in the CBCP official website, a recommendation was made to excommunicate these Catholic medical specialists who perform ligation and vasectomy.
The two government-accepted family planning methods are being frowned upon by the CBCP.
Dr. Rene Joseph Bullecer, chairman of Human Life International was quoted in said CBCP news who added that it is actually worse for doctors than the Catholic politicians.
Such, he maintained was because "...us doctors we study and do research that contraceptive is clearly an abortion per se."
Bullecer then appealed on the Catholic Hierarchy "to impose the same discipline to the Catholic doctors who are consistently doing massive ligation and vasectomy. Compared to 33 pro-abortion congressmen, there are more Catholic doctors who are doing ligation and vasectomy… If these doctors will disobey the Church's precautionary measures they should be excommunicated or interdicted."
