ATOP prexy dismayed over delay of P10 add-on fare for taxi cabs
Taxi operators here in Panay island expressed dismay over the failed implementation of the P10-peso add-on rate in taxi fares which is supposed to take effect Friday last week.
Dona Rose Ratilla, president of the Association of Taxi Operators in Panay (ATOP), disclosed they could not collect the additional fare from passengers in the absence of an official sticker or matrix to be issued by the regional office of the Land Transportation and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).
Ratilla said that LTFRB regional director Porfirio Clavel, Jr. went on official trip to Manila last Friday to follow-up the matter.
Earlier, the LTFRB director sternly warned taxi drivers and operators here to refrain from collecting the additional P10 flag down rate from the riding public if they have no yellow stickers conspicuously placed in their respective units. (PNA)
