Appeal out on civilian tipsters, immediate arrest of attackers
Two of the top officials of Iloilo's First District condemn "in the strongest possible terms" late Sunday evening's murder of a young businesswoman here.
For First District Board Member Richard Garin, immediate arrest of the "heartless and sick criminals" is appealed. Garin is chairman of the Committee on Public Order and Safety with the Municipality of Oton within his turf.
"Such violent and senseless murder has no place in our decent society. With the full arms of the law, we want to see justice for the aggrieved families and loved ones of the victims. In a sense, we as a community are victims here as well. We should not let these criminals get away with murder and the crime they had done," Garin said.
Garin also appealed for community support in order to hasten resolution of the case.
"We call on civilian tipsters and others who may have known about the attack or seen the two escape that night. Please help the authorities by giving information that may be valuable on their investigation," he ended.
Meantime, similar condemnation from Oton Mayor Vicente Flores who echoed Garin's sentiments on the Savannah murder and robbery.
It was to be the first major crime to have occurred since Flores assumed office last year.
Flores in a message obtained by The News Today (TNT) extended his full support to the ongoing police investigation. This, as the mayor also sought for outside help from locals in the area if only to hasten the investigation.
