Sayson strikes back at administration critics
BACOLOD CITY -- Bacolod City Vice Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson deplored yesterday those responsible for the proliferation of black propaganda describing the present administration as tainted with so many alleged anomalies like the dumpsite scam, construction of new government center, flood problems and other issues which he believes are not beneficial to the Bacoleños.
The black propaganda emerged yesterday at the height of the Papal Nuncio's visit here in Bacolod City and is believed to be part of a demolition job in preparation to the upcoming State of the City Address of Mayor Evelio Leonardia.
The vice mayor further said that if the critics have done something for Bacolod, it is not good for them to resort to black propaganda. Sayson challenges those responsible to instead come out in the open and present to the people their own projects and accomplishments.
Sayson stressed that the issues pending at hand shall only be judged by the people."Just the same, we will only work hard and address the problem confronting us," Sayson added.
Meanwhile, The New Government Center, which is among those criticized in the misinformation campaign, was visited Sunday evening by Papal Nuncio to the Philippines Archbishop Edward Joseph Adams.
Archbishop Adams led a simple blessing and prayer at the new government center after he was welcomed with a dinner hosted by Mayor Leonardia, Vice Mayor Sayson and the members of the city council. Said ceremony was also witnessed by Bacolod Bishop Vicente Navarra, Bishop Elect Gerardo Alminaza, former Bacolod Bishop Camilo Gregorio and members of the diplomatic corps who accompanied the Papal Nuncio.
In his speech at the New Government Center, Papal Nuncio described the NGC as "a symbol of dedication and care for the common good, a building for a peaceful and humane society, where the administration is according to the Gospel of Jesus Christ."
