NCIP gets computer unit from WV cops
A group of police officers of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO6) banded for a different cause and made possible the donation of one unit of desktop computer. Beneficiary is the National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP), the government's arm tasked to promote and protect the rights of "Indigenous People Cultural Communities (IPCC)."
"Anytime of the year is the right time to be kind and helpful," the group said through the spokesperson, Senior Police Officer 1 (SPO1) Jenny Derla. "And it is one of the ways we are helping of fellow Bukidnons – the indigenous people of Panay."
NCIP Regional Director Alfonso Catolin received the donation in behalf of the commission as he welcomed the group's support to the NCIP's works.
"...this would make the works at the NCIP field office serving the municipalities of Tapaz, Jamindan and Dumarao of Capiz and Calinog and Lambunao, Iloilo faster and easier," Director Catolin said.
To note, indigenous people from said areas seek help from the commission in securing medical assistance, education assistance, small projects support, legal assistance and assistance on ancestral domain concerns.
In Panay, the indigenous cultural communities are mostly located in the interior areas of the municipalities along the central Panay mountains including Tapaz and Jamindan in Capiz and Calinog and Lambunao in Iloilo.
