Provide needs of your kids, plan your family, says RH exec
BACOLOD CITY -- A Reproductive Health Executive (RH) here called on couples to plan their family so that they can provide their children with basic needs.
Vice President and Executive Director of Negros Occ. Rehabilitation Foundation, Inc. (NORFI) Roxy Lacson said that during these times of crisis, it is wise for Filipino families to go into family planning to ensure better life for their children like being able to send them to school and provide them proper nutrition.
Lacson, who is also a lawyer, encouraged couples to seek next door qualified medical personnel who can address their family planning needs as he endorsed barangay-based midwife clinics that provide various affordable RH services.
"I encourage everybody to seek the help of our Well Care Family Planning Clinic and Well Family Midwife Clinic in their family planning," he said during a program at the Bacolod Public Plaza to mark the observance of August as RH month recently.
NORFI Project Coordinator Alita Vingno said there are currently 19 midwife clinics operating in Bacolod City and the province, managed by a DOH trained midwife offering Philhealth covered maternal health services.
City Population Officer Antonia Tejario said their office encourages a well planned and healthy family that has balance resources and contributes to the economic plans of the government. She said a well-planned family can help the country achieve sustainable growth.
