Slain bizwoman's helper to undergo lie detector test
The helper of slain businesswoman Claire Sta. Cruz-Nueros would be subjected into a lie detector test to check the veracity of the statements she issued before the police investigators over the death of her employer Sunday evening in the posh Savannah subdivision. Evidence gathered in the crime scene are already being processed by the Scene of the Crime Operations (SOCO).
Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) Director Senior Supt. Ricardo de Lapaz said Charmaine Larupay will undergo lie detector test to validate the information she shared regarding the incident.
De la Paz said they want to get a more vivid detail on how Larupay managed to untie herself and seek help from the subdivision's security guards. Police also wants to get Larupay's account on why the kitchen door was left open. The two still unidentified suspects gained entry through the kitchen door.
Larupay reportedly agreed to undergo a lie detector test.
Earlier, investigators requested Larupay to reenact how the suspects entered the house and how she managed to survive.
Aside from Larupay, Nueros's former helper and her boyfriend also voluntarily went to the Oton police station to submit themselves for investigation. After the killing there were speculations that the 17-year old former helper and her boyfriend could be involved since the incident happened a few days after Nueros terminated the employment of her former helper.
The fingerprints gathered by members of the SOCO in the crime scene are being matched with the fingerprints of the former helper as well as of her boyfriend. Everything gathered in the crime scene is currently being processed by SOCO, said De la Paz.
The provincial director expressed his sympathy to Nueros's family. The victim was brutally murdered and sexually abused based on the medical findings made by Dr. Owen Lebaquin, of the Police Crime Laboratory of the Police Regional Office 6. "Justice should be served to the victim," De la Paz said.
Based on Dr. Lebaquin's report, Nueros was raped before she strangled to death. The victim could have died of massive head injuries and strangulation. Lacerations was also found in Nueros's genitals, indicating the possibility that the victim was sexually abused.
