Gokongwei China Scholars to visit CPU
August 11, three days after the Opening Ceremonies of the Beijing Olympics 2008, the Gokongwei Brothers Foundation China Scholars will visit Central Philippine University to share their insights and experiences in Beijing during their 10-month scholarship program. The scholars will be sharing to the Centralians their views about Modern China, China 's preparation for the Beijing Olympics and the importance of having a Global Pinoy mindset.
Inspired by their benefactor Mr. John Gokongwei, Jr., the scholars organized Project Hope Warrior: Pinoy Youths Creating a Global Pinoy Mindset (An Inter-University Leadership and Inspirational Talk Series) as a way of giving back to the country. Project Hope Warrior is a series of talks to be held in different universities all over the Philippines. Each event is meant to give the Scholars a chance to share their experiences and realizations from China with other young Filipinos. The Project has one very basic goal: to revive young Filipinos' ability to dream big by encouraging them to move beyond what is safe and familiar and to explore everything that the world has to offer.
