PDEA affirms illegal drugs transactions happen in Smallville
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) regional director Senior Superintendent Roybel Sanchez stands firm on their report that illegal drugs transactions happen at Smallville complex.
Sanchez in an interview with the Iloilo City Hall Press Corps said they received reliable information about it and they were able to confirm it through several test buys.
Apparently irritated, Sanchez said the agency will soon prove their report with the arrest of suspected drug pushers.
Sanchez said previously his men arrested at two suspects after making illegal drugs transactions at the Smallville complex. The cases between the two are now pending before the Iloilo regional trial court.
"It is not easy to apprehend the suspects as drug transactions happen so fast. The suspects change money and drugs by using their cars. They just open their windows and speed away from the place," Sanchez said.
Sanchez also confirmed that the illegal drug ecstasy is being traded in the complex.
The PDEA director even threw back his ire to the members of the media saying, "bisan kamo bal-an ninyo kon sin-o nga mga drug suspects pirmi gakadto didto (for sure you are also aware that drug suspects frequent the place)."
Sanchez however could not categorically say the extent of the illegal drugs problem in Smallville complex.
An earlier report disclosed by a PDEA official stated that three of the restaurants and bars in the complex are used as drop centers of illegal drugs namely shabu and ecstasy.
Meanwhile, Chief Supt. Isagani Cuevas, Police Regional Office 6 director, viewed the illegal drug problems in Smallville as "not alarming".
