PLDT offers scholarship to police dependents
The Philippine National Police and PLDT Smart College Educational Assistance Program have forged an agreement for scholarship of police dependents.
The scholarship gives highest priority to dependents whose PNP uniformed parents were killed in action (KIA), complete disability discharged (CDD), wounded or incapacitated in the performance of duty. The program is intended for dependents who are either in college level or have graduated in high school with honors. They must be, however, legitimate sons or daughters and with good moral character and of good health.
The Chief PNP, Police Director General Avelino I Razon, Jr. said the Scholarship Committee is now accepting applicants for said scholarship grant.
The documentary requirements are: (a) service records of the parent (PNP uniformed personnel) issued by the Directorate for Personnel and Records Management (DPRM); (b) Certificate from the parents/guardian giving the privilege to the son/daughter to be recipient of the grant under the program; (c) If applicable, certificate from the PNP that the parent of the applicant was killed in action, complete disability discharge; wounded or incapacitated in line of duty; (d) certified true copy of high school diploma/certificate of completion of High School; (e) latest transcript of records; (f) certified true copy of Birth Certificate; and, (g) health certificate from a government physician.
Initial screening of applicants shall be conducted at the Regional Personnel and Human Resource Development Division of Police Regional Office, where they belong. (JC.Rio)
