San Isidro housing project
The housing project for those residents displaced by typhoon Frank is now in full swing. Funds have already been released to jumpstart the construction of houses in the San Isidro relocation site. Iloilo City Hall Press Corps (ICHPC) has been tapped as member of the selection committee to ensure that the rightful beneficiaries could avail of the housing project. Unfortunately, ICHPC only attended the meeting for the selection process once. It was no longer invited in the succeeding meetings. Uy, nga-a ayhan? We hope and pray that this project will not suffer the same fate as that of the P125 million socialized housing project in Pavia. Ano'ng say mo Mommy Lyds?
Back in each other's arms?
Gov. Niel Tupas and Justice Sec. Raul Gonzalez Sr. seem to back each other's arms again. Many people saw the how the two, who have been together in Congress when both of them were still congressmen, kid each other at the tarmac of the Iloilo airport while waiting for the arrival of Madam Glo. One radio reporter was even heard saying, "lantawa n'yo bla ang duha ka tigulang, kasadya sa ila."
Never been touched
Time passes by but the damaged road section approaching the town proper of San Miguel, Iloilo still has never been touched. The protests of motorists and the people of San Miguel apparently fell on deaf ears. Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said that there are already funds for the repair of the said road. But where are the DPWH people? Nga-a wala pa gihapon nasuguran ang pag-repair sang dalan? Congresswoman Syjuco maluoy ka man sa mga motorista nga naga-agi sa amo nga dalan.
