Capiz gov forms Teatro Capiznon to entertain barangays
ROXAS CITY – In the fulfillment of his slogan "Labi sa Tanan ang Tawo", Capiz Governor Victor Tanco, Sr. had formed Teatro Capiznon to bring entertainment to barangay folks in the city of Roxas and the province of Capiz.
Teatro Capiznon, which is the cultural project of Tanco and Senator Mar Roxas, also aims to discover the hidden talents of Capiceños.
Mr. Verde Abolucion, supervisor of the project, told The News Today (TNT) that the cultural-entertainment group started making rounds to 11 of the city's 47 barangays last May.
Teatro Capiznon presents a variety show composed of drama, dancing, singing, modern dance and among others.
Abolucion also said that the group conducts shows every Wednesday, Tuesday and Friday upon the request of barangay officials.
He added that they will also get the participation of talented persons in the barangays and later on they will be holding inter-barangay contests.
Mr. Dexter Dy, coordinator of the project, also said that they after completing their performances to the 47 bgrys of Roxas City, the group will also go to the municipalities.
Barangays that wanted to request for the showing of Teatro Capiznon can contact the group at the office of the governor.
It was learned that the project was a brainchild of Atty. Noede Villareal.
