Sapian town to host Cooperative Month on Nov. 5

SAPIAN, Capiz – This town under the leadership of Mayor Arturo "Turic" Orosco, Sr., Ph.D will host the yearly Cooperative Month slated on November 5 this year.
This was agreed during the meeting held in this town which was attended by Board Member Ricky Martin, chairman of the Provincial Cooperative Development Council (PCDC), member cooperatives and local and national government agencies concerned.
During the Cooperative Month there will be a showcase of all native products coming from the different towns which will be displayed on the respective booths of the municipalities.
Dr. Evangeline Oñas Orosco, wife of the mayor, assured that they will shoulder all the expenses relative to the holding of Cooperative Month -- from foods, t-shirts and other fees.
The first lady also said that the expenses to be shouldered by the 16 municipalities would only be transportation and t-shirts of the participants, however, t-shirts for VIPs would be shouldered by the couple.
She also said that there will be a raffle among the participants in which prices at stake are: TV, refrigerators and other appliances.
Mayor Orosco said the trade fair would be held in front of the municipal hall.
He said each municipality could bring up to a maximum of 150 persons to join the celebration.
"Mas marami tayo dito mas masaya," the first lady said adding that she assured to have big bang celebration.
Last year, the Cooperative Month celebration was hosted by Cuartero town under the leadership of Mayor Roger Flores.
