Search for Banwahanon Awardee now open
BACOLOD CITY -- The 70th Charter Day Committee headed by City Vice Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson announced yesterday that the application for the Search for "Ang Banwahanon Award" is now available and the deadline for the submission is set on September 30, 2008.
Sayson said that the gauge in order to qualify this award is that the outstanding Bacoleño or nominee should have an exemplary and selfless civic service achievements that inspired everybody particularly a model worthy of emulation by the residents of City of Bacolod and the country in general.
The nominee should also have a considerable impact for services rendered to the people and the community which have immensely contributed to the economic, cultural, sports, social and educational development of the City.
Sayson also said that every year, the Charter Committee, selects five outstanding Bacoleños deserving to receive an award.
The qualifications set by the committee is that a nominee should be a Filipino citizen of good moral character, person of known probity and integrity, resident of Bacolod City for at least ten consecutive years, he/she must come from a private sector and was not a recipient or awardee of the "Ang Banwahanon Award" and be willing to be of service to the City when called upon.
The requirements needed by the committee is a duly accomplished and notarized forms, recent picture, passport size or 2" x 2", brief write-up on the nominee's relevant achievement, and other pertinent supporting documents, not mentioned in the nomination form. Nomination form, Sayson said, must be submitted to the "Ang Banwahanon Awards" Committee headed by Sangguniang Panglungsod Member Homer Bais.
