Red roses for Rajo

When international fashion designer and celebrity Rajo Laurel unveiled his 50-piece haute couture collection last Sept. 9, 2008 at the Rizal Ballroom of the Makati Shangrila, the whole country watched.
Seven hundred strong fashionable personas made up of high society clienteles, politicians and celebrities dined on a P10,000 per plate dinner for the benefit of the Philippine National Red Cross, which is the designer's advocacy. His special and stylish women also lived their lives with a purpose, thus he called them the Rajo Red Ladies.
The event was a celebration of his 15th year in the fashion industry.
Rajo featured three main themes that formed the backbone of his collection: the lush scenery of Africa, the opulent kimono-inspired Japan, and the daring new takes of the Philippine terno.

Once called the Bad Boy of Philippine Fashion for incessantly defying the boundaries of the industry, the now wonder boy Rajo Laurel has definitely perfected his craft with a spell bounding collection, running the gamut of geometry, optical arts, floral and delicate organic imagery.
Rajo was trained at the prestigious Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and he is armed with specialty courses in Central St. Martins in London. At present, he is one of the most in-demand fashion designers in the country. His creations are frequently featured in glossy covers and pages of different magazines, seen in TV screens and concert stages.
