This week was a very hectic week, what else could I do but share with you my toxic week, so here goes!
Last Sunday, I was assigned as regional coordinator of the Gerry Roxas Leadership Awardees. By this, I mean, that I will have to coordinate and supervise all the awardees from all over Region VI. This job began with an informal endorsement of my person by the former GRLA Coordinator. We left for Iloilo early last Monday morning, met with the provincial representatives of both the professionals and the students group and had lunch at the Emillion Restaurant along Gen. Luna. After about three hours of introductions and plannings, we went back to Roxas City and got stranded somewhere in Sigma because of a flood. We went through the Timpaz detour and arrived in Roxas City somewhere between eight and nine. I slept; that was my first experience of GRF Life.
Some time in the middle of the week, I was informed that I had to go back to Iloilo on the 19th, in the afternoon to attend an important forum at Hotel del Rio. I was stumped because I wanted to attend the TNT launching/anniversary celebration to be held here in Roxas City at Pangahaw Resto-Bar at 3 PM. I called Mama Richel and begged off for the 3 PM celebration where Hon. Gov. Vic Tanco was to be our guest of honor. I opted to meet my TNT family from Iloilo during lunch na lang because I had to leave for Iloilo right after to attend the 4 PM forum. I thought that was a cinch, unfortunately…
Wednesday morning I received a text from the former GRF coordinator instructing me to attend a 10 AM forum at the University of the Philippines on the 19th of September. My chances of meeting my TNT family for lunch was no longer viable…
I left for Iloilo very early, Friday morning, to attend the forum. Surprisingly, our supposed guest of honor for the TNT launching/anniversary party, Gov. Vic Tanco was also at the forum. I attended the forum along with other GRLA's we all had lunch at Barrio Inasal and I prepared for the 4 PM forum of the same day. During the 4 PM forum, two of the four guests that I invited arrived and we had an enriching time at the forum, unfortunately, I had to leave early to catch the last trip back to Roxas City where I was supposed to be at another dinner meeting, 9 PM of the same day…whew! Toxic! I barely slept in the L300 van because it was cramped; full of passengers wanting to go home on a Friday.
I'm here now, looking back at my week and, frankly, I had fun; despite the ‘eyebag' busting moments and schedules, I was actually a very productive week. One meeting here, another there, and whatever else there is in between. I guess Virgoans are really work horses, and let's just say that TNT is a Virgoan as well, with it's birthday being the 19th of September, I'm September 4. All Virgoans love to be busy, and I guess, it goes without saying that The News Today will always be busy giving you the best and freshest news ever.
What a week! And I look forward to having more similar weeks, and I know more is coming because I have my calendar blocked for the next month or so!
Be rational; be insane! Every once in a while!
Happy anniversary The News Today!!!
