Tapaz police chief: I'm the target of letter complaint
TAPAZ, Capiz – Inspector Diomedes Cuadra, chief of this town's Philippine National Police (PNP), claimed that he was the target of the complaint letter addressed to Pres Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo as certain detractors what him out of this town.
Cuadra told The News Today that certain people want him removed from Tapaz because of their massive campaign against illegal activities.
"Their allegation are all lies," said Cuadra of the accusations contained in the controversial letter.
He remembered that he filed a case of illegal possession of firearms against Poblacion Brgy. Captain Giovanni San Felix before the provincial prosecutor in Roxas City Hall of Justice however, the case was dismissed prompting him to file a motion for reconsideration.
San Felix is the supporter of Former Board Member Romualdo "Nonoy" Exmundo who lost in the mayoralty race to Mayor Rosemarie Gardose in the 2007 election.
"I have been doing my job, as long as I'm here the illegalities will not prosper here," Cuadra said.
He also stressed that being the chief of police he is apolitical and that he is only doing his duty as a police officer to ensure that peace and order is maintained in Tapaz town.
