Dogs and more dogs
A Fun Match Dog Show was held at Robinsons Place Iloilo recently. At registration, dogs of different and mixed breeds and different sizes could be seen being walked around the fountain area by their owners or trainers. At about 10:45, after the final participant registered, the show started.
It opened with a fashion show by the small breeds. Owners went out of their way by dressing their dogs from a Hawaiian dancer to an old-time aircraft pilot. Then came one of the fun parts to watch: the dog food eating contest. Categorized by their sizes, owners coaxed and pep talked their dogs into eating the food as fast as they could. Spectators had fun watching the dogs lap at the food and at the owners almost shoving it down the dogs' throats. After the dog food eating contest came the Obedience Test.
Here the owners will have to show the judge just how well they have trained their "best friends" into obeying them. From taking a basket from one point to another up to testing its ability to "stay" when told to do so, the participants were judged accordingly. There was also a category for the best in big and small breed and also for the mixed breeds. And finally the Fun Match proper.
The event was a project of the Iloilo Kennel Club, Inc.
