Chocolate may be classified as a "sinful indulgence" because many cannot resist it. With such pleasure also comes health benefits like improvement of the circulatory system, its anti-cancer properties, prevents cough and diarrhea and is an aphrodisiac.
Celebrate this popular indulgence at Tinapayan, located in all Iloilo Supermart stores. For the month of October, Tinapayan is having a Chocolate Festival. Every week, chocolate bars, breads and cakes are featured and has been receiving a warm response from chocolate lovers around Iloilo.
This week, the featured chocolate-based products are Opera Bars, Choco Orange and Choc-nut Swirl.
Choco Orange.
The Opera Bars consist of layered buttercake and ganache. This moist-bar has a mocha taste and would really go well with your coffee or tea.
The Choco Orange has layers of mouse and freshly squeezed orange. The combination of chocolate and orange pulps turned into mousse, plus a generous amount of orange flavored Grand Marnier is one rare treat that this writer has experienced for the first time. It has a citrusy flavor in the middle. On top are shaven chocolates formed into floral shapes.
Choco-nut Swirl is a good snack, too. One need not put some filling because a generous amount of choco nut is embedded inside the soft and easy to bite loaf bread.
"We are trying to come up with new chocolate products every year. There's always something better," said Evelyn Que, manager of Tinapayan.
Choc-nut Swirl.
Although these chocolate features are only available in Tinapayan during October, Que said that those who want to enjoy these all year round can order them in advance. "These are specially made chocolate products," she said.
Que said that Tinapayan uses Embassy of Chocolate's products. These are made in Indonesia, known to produce world-class Belgian chocolates.
