Robinsons Place Bacolod: Gateway to the Masskara Festival

Robinsons Place Bacolod held the official lighting of its Gateway to Masskara Festival last Oct. 3, 2008.
It will welcome tourists and Negrenses to Bacolod, making it as another attraction to the Masskara Celebration. They will display lighted masks and logo of the Masskara Festival with the theme "Bacolod, the City of the World".
Mayor Evelio "Bing" Leonardia gave his overview of the festivity and explained how they came up with this year's Masskara theme. According to him, the smiling mask represents Bacolod everywhere in the world.
The unveiling of the mask was officiated by the mayor with Christine Tomas, marketing manager of Robinsons Place Bacolod, Toks Lopez, Eli Tajanlangit, the Masskara Director and other city officials.

As gateway, Robinson's Place Bacolod will a hold series of events to intensify the festive mood in the city. There will be a midnight sale on October 18 and 19 as a highlight to the mall's events. Big discounts and cool prizes await shoppers.
The event schedule is as follows: October 5 – Pinta Figuras, a body painting and head dress design competition of La Consolacion College of Fine Arts; October 6 to 20, Masskara Village at the Mall, exhibit of this year's entries of ABS-CBN's Maskmaking contest; October 9 - 5th Bacolod History Quiz, a quiz bee that will challenge different schools on how well they know history and other information about Bacolod; October 10 to 11- Employment Expo; and October 12 to 18, 4th Regional Agri Trade Fair, a trade fair of organic products from various towns and municipalities organized by the Department of Agriculture.
