The Regional Statistical Coordination Committee (RSCC) in Western Visayas has put up a Statistical Exhibit which will open today, October 7, 2008 at the Ground Floor of the Robinson's Place Iloilo.
The exhibit which is part of the annual celebration of the National Statistics Month held every October will run from October 7 to 17 from 10 A.M. to 8:00 P.M.

Around 17 government agencies and academic institutions will participate in the event featuring information in support of the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
This year's NSM celebration carries the theme "Demand-Driven Statistics: Key to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) Development," which highlights the need to shift to the generation of statistical data based on the needs of the MSME sector to come up with a more comprehensive, reliable and up-to-date MSME statistics.
The theme also corresponds to the needs of the MSME sector which, as statistics would show, comprises roughly 99.6 percent of the country's businesses and employs about 70 percent of the total workforce, making it only imperative to pay attention to the requirements of the sector which serves as the backbone of the Philippine economy.
The over-all organizer for this year's exhibit is the National Statistics Office which was adjudged first place last year. The exhibit is one of the statistical contests lined up by the RSCC that highlights the celebration in the region. Other contests are the Statistical Bulletin Board, Statistical Analysis and Statistical Quiz. (PIA)
