True to its advocacy of preserving the environment and conserving the natural resources, the Youth Empowerment for Service (YES) Club launched its project "Barangay Ko, Palangga Ko, Patahumon Ko!", Sunday, October 5.
With Brgy Gines, Zarraga, Iloilo as its pilot area, YES Club conducted a whole day clean-up activity – removing the'eyes sores' in the barangay plaza, unclogging drainage and pulling out weeds.
The YES Club is youth organization that seeks to build youth leadership for peaceful, orderly, and progressive community. The YES Club exposes the youth-members to various service-oriented activities through its three major advocacies: 1) protection of women, youth, and children; 2) protection of environment and conservation of natural resources; and, 3) maintenance of peace and order.
Before the clean up
YES Club President, Jhally Queen Silvela, was grateful for the support of Brgy Gines chief, Hon. Joebert Bañes, and Ernie Sumbo, who provided the snacks for the participants of the activity.
