A total of P140,000 worth of checks was turned over yesterday to four farmers associations in the province for the Organic Coffee Growing Project, in a simple ceremony held at the Governor's Office.
The four associations that received P35,000 worth of checks each are Benejewan 1st Farmers Association of Brgy. Bunga, DS Benedicto; Tayap Upland Farmers Association of Brgy. Patag, Silay City; Inabaye Upland Farmers Association in Bagonbon, San Carlos City; and Palampas Upland Farmers Association in Brg. Palampas, San Carlos City.
Negros Occ. Provincial Administrator Enrique Pinongan spearheaded the turnover of checks together with Provincial Environment Management Office (PEMO) staff Arthur Alvañez, Supervising Environment Management Specialist and Mansueto Legasan, Community Development Assistant.
The checks were personally received by representatives of each of the associations. (Capitol News)
