DILG chief hails New Gov't Center
BACOLOD CITY – Interior and Local Government Secretary Ronaldo Puno yesterday was all praises of the city's New Government Center.
Puno, who was the guest speaker in the celebration of Bacolod City's 70thCharter Day, said "it is one of the best I've ever seen, in style and quality."
Puno said, among the local government units, both cities and provinces in the country, Bacolod's new home is one-of-a-kind and modern, using the cutting-edged technology in terms of construction.
He also noted that the structure was very planned which will provide greater service to the people of Bacolod, investors and visitors as well.
Puno congratulated the Leonardia administration for having such project for its constituents.
Mayor Evelio Leonardia on the other personally thanked the DILG secretary for spending his time in Bacolod as the city ended its 19-day Masskara celebration.
The mayor is very thankful of the support and cooperation of different sectors to the city which made the affair successful.
Leonardia noted that despite the crisis the world is experiencing, still Bacolod continue to soar as one of the progressive cities in the Philippines today.
"Awards and recognition is a necessity, acknowledging the help of different people who rendered a selfless service to the Bacoleños and the city," Leonardia added.
As what former President Manuel Quezon said 70 years ago during the cityhood of Bacolod, he foreseen the city as a prosperous city in the years to come. Quezon according to Leonardia truly foreseen it before as Bacolod today is really competing to other highly urbanized cities in the country, and well-known worldwide because of its culture, people, food and the famous Masskara Festival.
