P3.7 Million livelihood projects, 6 ambulances
BACOLOD CITY -- True to his trademark as a man of compassion, Negros Occidental 5th District Rep. Ignacio T. Arroyo celebrated his birthday with a unique bash, with almost everything meant for the people of his district.
This as Cong. Arroyo distributed multi million worth of "give aways" by means of livelihood projects and six ambulances, television sets with DVD players and sacks of rice during his birthday celebration held at Binalbagan, Monday.
Gov. Isidro Zayco, Vice Gov. Emilio Yulo, III, Rep. Jeffrey Ferrer, (4th District), Rep. Genaro Alvarez, (6th District) and more important guests and friends came to greet the Congressman on his special day.
All the towns and the City of Himamaylan in his district received livelihood projects from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) through the efforts of Cong. Arroyo.
On his livelihood projects, La Castellana received P313,711 for its 25 beneficiaries of the ginger ale production; P666,100 for the 74 CARP beneficiaries of its Integrated Agricultural Enterprise; P250,000 for Isabela's Frozen Foods and Eatery Business by 100 Women of Isabela; P285,000 for Isabela's Integrated Livelihood Projects for its 57 Informal Sector; P253,322.00 for Binalbagan's Fishing Gears and Supply Store by the 60 active members of the Small Fisherfolks under the Canmoros Dynamic Association, Inc. (CANDY Asin).
Himamaylan also received P501,000 for its enhancement of various livelihood projects for the 167 market vendors; P515,600 for Hinigaran's rice milling and trading for the 113 CARP beneficiaries; and P998,250 for Moises Padilla's TCP on Vermi Composting project and organic fertilizer production for the 200 farmer members of the Moises Padilla Multi Purpose Cooperative.
Arroyo said it's his birthday wish to continuously bring better health services and more livelihood projects to the people of the 5th District.
