DOLE launches 75th anniversary website
A commemorative website was launched by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) for its upcoming 75th Foundation Day on December 8.
The website, www.dole75th.com, features a sneak peek of nationwide activities for the DOLE 75th anniversary, photos and videos of the activities, news and features on labor and employment, and trivia on interesting moments in labor history.
It also has a countdown timer and an audio-video presentation about "DOLE at 75," among others.
"The website is a joint collaboration between the Department of Labor and Employment and Vibal Foundation 's Filipiniana.net - the country's premier Philippine digital library and online research portal," said an online news release.
DOLE Secretary Marianito Roque said that DOLE has played a proactive role in the process of building a progressive nation for Filipino workers for the past 75 years in his message at the website.
"We have done our share but we will strive to achieve more and continue to deliver effecient services to the public," he added.
DOLE was established as a department on December 8, 1933 from a small bureau in 1908. It is mandated to formulate policies, implement programs, and serve as the policy-coordinating arm of the Executive Branch in the field of labor and employment. (PIA/A.Lumaque)
