Bacolod City -- The internationally acclaimed Alternative Indigenous Development Foundation Incorporated (AIDFI) opened recently its Techno-Park.
The techno-park is a showcase of alternative technologies in harmony with nature and people, said Auke Idzenga, head of the Technical Department of the foundation.
Technologies in the park include hydraulic ram pump, hydro power systems, and different kinds of water pumps, piggery with built-in-Bio-Gas supply for cooking, stainless built-essential oil distiller, organic tilapia fish pond, contoured mini-rice-paddies, vermin-composted organic fertilizer, nursery for rare and endemic plants.
Such technologies are locally designed and manufactured by its technical team in their workshop adjacent to the park.
The opening of the techno-park started with the blessing of the park by Fr. Romeo Impestan. Marvin Gonzaga led the cutting of the symbolic chain on the entrance leading to the park.
AID Foundation's Techno-park is the newest addition to the foundation's commitment and ideals for integral and liberating development for 17 years since it was started and organized in 1991.
The Techno-Park will be open for public viewing like Study Tours, Lakbay Aral and other group tours. (PIA/EAD)
