Shop for Charity
Bazaar Vendors.
The idea of having a Christmas Bazaar in Iloilo City was born out of guilt. The typhoon Frank aftermath still haunted me not because my families were victims too but because I know that I am sitting comfortably on a cushioned chair with a roof above my head yet there are many children out there who are on the streets, who lost their families during this calamity. I wonder, what will Christmas be for them this year? I see these kids without slippers running around their barangays waiting for Hope. I know that everyone wants to reach out but do not know how to start. I was thinking of a fund raising that can let everyone participate and enjoy in this endeavor. Thus, the WORLD MARKET CHRISTMAS BAZAAR. This is shopping for a good cause, and this is what CHARITY means.
On November 28 (Friday) and 29 (Saturday) 2008, more than 40 vendors from Bacolod, Antique, Manila and Iloilo will be participating in this biggest Christmas bazaar. They will generously share their time and their fantastic products with shoppers this coming weekend.

I am so excited after seeing some sample items from some vendors of the bazaar.
I fell in love with the vintage BCBG and Paul & Joe Dresses from Vintage Treasures. I was surprised to see prices like Php 1,295! Usually, the cost of these dresses is more than Php 10,000. My friends saw the Old Navy blouse from UC booth and they wanted to have it already. My daughter , who saw the Tinkerbell Lunch Box of UC for Php 450 asked me if she can write to Santa and ask for that Lunch Box. The Cargo Shorts and Surfer Shorts from Fritz Lifestyle are perfect gift ideas for my brothers. I found this imported, light, leather white bag for my mom that's affordable for only Php 350 from Models Inc. My fashionista and jet setter best friend really deserves this one-of-a-kind jewelry from SHOPAHOLIC booth of Jinky and Geraldine Jalbuena and I can't wait for her to open my Christmas gift because I am sure she will be so delighted.

This WORLD MARKET CHRISTMAS BAZAAR is also great for Balikbayans who want to bring home unique gift items from the Philippines. Check out Vanilla Finds Organic Coffee from Negros for only Php 80 and their Muscovado Sugar that is of export quality for only Php 68. This is a good steal for 500 grams of this healthy sugar. The guava jelly from Guimaras Trappist looks so yummy also. I know that my friend in New York Charmaine and her husband Winston will appreciate unique gifts like these that I plan to send thru her mom who is in town.
While I was checking out the items, my son who is a foodie, gave a thumbs up to Dulcenitas assorted goodies as well as Irene Magallon's Bucanillo. Her Bucanillo was so tasty that I ate seven pieces in one sitting. Interesting discoveries were Irene Magallon's tuyo, atsara and labong. I am sure that my Titos and Titas would like to receive such.
There will also be a Nadine's Closet selling second hand designer gowns (Rajo Laurel Gowns and Dresses, Imported Jeans, Mango dresses, etc ), shoes and designer bags.
I find myself already completing my Christmas list without spending a fortune and proud to say that they are all unique. Christmas is all about love, giving and sharing --- this is the essence of the WORLD CHRISTMAS BAZAAR.
