Brgy. tanods urged to conduct regular patrol
BACOLOD CITY -- Barangay tanods play a vital role in crime prevention that is why they should conduct regular patrol in crime prone areas to prevent the occurrence of criminalities.
Councilor Celia Matea Flor, chairperson of the Committee on Family and Child Care Development, formulated a resolution requesting the punong barangays of 61 barangays in Bacolod through the Office of the City Mayor to call on their barangay tanods to be more visible and vigilant against the occurrence of possible crimes.
Flor said several crimes have been perpetrated, mostly against minors, like the case of a young girl raped inside the sugarcane field at Barangay Granada and most recent was against a 13 year-old first year high school female student of Paglaum Village National High School in Barangay Mansilingan.

Meanwhile, Flor commended the personnel of Police Station - 7 based in Barangay Mansilingan led by Senior Insp. Reynaldo Auditor for their immediate response to the case of the 13-year old girl.
The victim was waylaid by the suspect around 5:30 p.m. while she was about to go home from school where she was raped then stabbed to death last Nov. 20, 2008.
