SP allots P3.4M for fuel of garbage trucks, police car
BACOLOD CITY – The Sangguniang Panglungsod recently approved a total of P3.4 million for fuel supply of garbage trucks and police patrol cars.
Acting Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson said P2 million will go to Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) and P1.4 million for the Department of Public Services (DPS).
Earlier, the Bacolod police incurred fuel limitations for its patrol cars because of lack of budget.
"The ten police precincts and City Mobile Group using the Terrano patrol within the jurisdiction of BCPO have monthly fuel allocations from PAGCOR and additional from city funds," Sayson stressed.
Meanwhile, Councilor Greg Gasataya, chairman of the Committee on Environment and Task Force Clean and Green, apologized for the uncollected garbage in various barangays the past few days.
Aside from the fuel problems, four garbage trucks of the DPS experienced mechanical trouble because of its older status.
The city government has 22 garbage trucks in operation six trucks being rented by the city from private person.
"Hopefully, our collection will be back to normal today because the fuel problems have been resolved once and for all," Gasataya added.
