PG's 100 Oblations
Stella Juris group in full support of
Zoluaga.
It took quite sometime for dynamic and multi-awarded artist PG Zoluaga to finish his 100 Oblations. And when he was done, he was able to produce an awesome art piece that graduates of the University of the Philippines can relate to.
"Inspired by Gary Granada's version of UP Naming Mahal, I wanted to pay tribute to the 100 years of existence of an institution that has been a major instrument in the making of the history of our country. I like to believe that UP is still a combination of the University of the Streets, University of the Markets, University of the Slums, University of the Farms and Remote Areas and University of the Heart. I hope that academic freedom, service to the country and the people, and nationalism are still in the bloodline of the university," Zoluaga stated.
Boyet and special guests open the
exhibit.
He also stressed that while the products of UP had ventured to different countries and have remained Filipino at heart, it is always a better option to stay in one's country. "Malayong lupain, di kailangan marating, dito maglilingkod sa bayan natin," he added.
100 Oblations is his way of saying "Mabuhay ang nagbibigay pag-asa sa bayan natin!"
Zoluaga donated the said masterpiece to the University of the Philippines in the Visayas, where his said art exhibit is ongoing until December.
