WVSU on the spotlight
Several years ago, The News Today exposed an anomalous transaction at West Visayas State University involving the purchase of an offset printing machine. A certain Alex, who is no longer connected with the university's printing press, apparently gained from the said transaction. Now, it seems that a similar anomalous purchase of a printing machine is bound to happen at WVSU courtesy of a "kalbo" facilitating the transaction. Bull's Eye learned that this "kalbo" is about to enter into transaction with a supplier for the purchase of printing machine worth P1.375 million when in truth the machine could be bought at only P1 million as indicated in the offer of the supplier to another bidder. Nagaguwa nga ang patong nga P375,000 madiretso sa bulsa sang kalbo kang sang iya mga kaupdanan dira sa WVSU! Further, Bull's Eye gathered that this "kalbo" and his cohorts went to Manila to make an inspection of the printing machine all expenses paid by the supplier. Oops! Daw may ginaluto sila haw? Attention WVSU officials please look into this transaction otherwise maisahan kamo sang kalbo. Besides, the transaction would be disadvantageous on the part of the government since the printing machine, we were told, is not in perfect condition
Big-headed VM
After a heated argument VM, the vice mayor, apparently losing his cool blurted these words unto the councilor with whom he was having argument: "Padalagan ka bla vice mayor, testingan ta mga tawo kag organisasyon mo!" Well, this statement speaks of the real character of this big-headed vice mayor.
Oneness for Dinagyang
Given the delay in the preparations for next year's Dinagyang Festival all sectors in our community should cooperate and do their share in making the much-sought event successful. Let us set aside all those mumblings, what we need now is oneness to achieve a common goal which is to make Dinagyang 2009 at par with or better than the previous years' celebrations. Otherwise, the entire Ilonggo community man gihapon ang mahuy-an.
