CEH administrator urges support for Sen. Roxas' presidential bid
ROXAS CITY – Newly elected vice president of Private Hospital Association (PHA) Mr. Jessie Contreras has urged Capiceños and all Ilonggo to unite for the presidential bid of Sen. Mar Roxas in the 2010 national and local elections.
Contreras, who is the administrator of Capiz Emmanuel Hospital, told The News Today (TNT) that Sen. Roxas should be supported by Capiceños and the entire Ilonggos since he is the only presidentiable fit to occupy the highest position in the land.
He said Sen. Roxas has no record of graft and corruption and other forms of immorality.
"Sen Mar Roxas is Mr. Clean, an economist who has not been involved in issues of graft and corruption in the government," he said.
Contreras, who will be the president of PHA in 2010, said that the hospital industry will support Sen. Roxas because the latter is the author of Cheaper Medicine Act that benefited the hospitals and its patients.
"We should set aside our political differences and support Sen. Mar as Capiceños and Ilonggos for his presidential bid," Contreras said.
He added that Sen. Roxas is responsible for the efficient water district in Roxas City, concreting of roads, infrastructure projects and many others.
Earlier, critics of Sen. Roxas here said that the Capiceño senator has no projects in Capiz and the city of Roxas.
However, Board Member Alfonso Bediones said in his privilege speech that the senator brought some P998 million projects in the whole of Capiz.
Bediones said that among these projects were the P220 million pesos concreting of Culasi port and the P120 million Pilar-Pres. Roxas-Panitan-Lanot road, the P40-million Maayon-Tapulang-Cuartero road; the 34-million Punta Tabuc-Cagay-Balijuagan-Ivisan- road and the P15-million Bailan-Maayon road.
