ITCH!
Congratulations to 260 police recruits
The New Peoples Army scored another hostility - the ambush against the personnel of 6th Regional Mobile Group in Negros Occidental, killing one and wounding four policewomen of the 6th Regional Mobile Group.
That incident only shows that the NPAs remain a force to reckon with, nay a threat to peace and order and internal security.
By the number, the NPAs are but a little fraction against our government forces. That makes them more elusive. But surely their race will not increase. The AFP, with the PNP in active support role, gears up to topple insurgency problem by 2010.
Though, it is easier said than done.

This Monday (December 8) the Police Regional Office 6 welcomes 260 strong and warm bodies of neophyte police officers – the survivors of the second phase of PNP Attrition Recruitment Program.
Originally, almost 700 young professionals applied for Police Officer (PO) 1 position. Only 530 passed the agility test. The number went down to 330 after the neuro-psychiatric test. The fatalities increased after the medical examination, where only 286 applicants were recommended for panel interview. And the final list showed only 283 survivors.
The aforementioned statistics showed how rigid and competitive the recruitment and selection process was.
Does it imply that the PNP is now going after the best and the brightest? Let us give it the benefit of the doubt that it does.
To the new breed of police officers, Congratulations! You are the hope of the PNP!

Police Chief Superintendent Isagani R. Cuevas, with the support the members of Police Regional Office 6 Command Group (PCSupt Darius Tuazon, Sr; PSSupt Arnulfo Perez; and PSSupt Edgar Layon), deserves a commendation for the result of this year's recruitment.
While Police Regional Office 6 has a quota allocation of only 260 positions, Cuevas helped the 23 other applicants to make their dreams come true. He recommended them to fill up the vacant positions in Police Regional Office 6 (Bicol Region). An initiative that none of his predecessors had ever done in their time. His effort was not in vain. PRO 5 warmly welcomed the 23 Ilonggo PNP applicants.
It means, despite the limited quota allocation for PRO 6, all of the 283 who successfully passed the different stages of recruitment and selection process got the job. This is the first time to happen in PRO 6's recruitment history.
Kudos General Cuevas! You are like no other!
