Jamindan mayor asks Senator Mar, Rep. Castro and Gov. Tanco to settle any differences
ROXAS CITY – Jamindan Mayor Ethel Jinon is urging Senator Mar Roxas, 2nd District Congressman Fredenil Castro and Capiz Governor Victor Tanco, Sr to sit down and settle political differences among each others.
"I'm speaking in general and I urge them to settle down any differences among them" Jinon said in an RMN Roxas interview.
According to Jinon, she acknowledges Castro as her political leader in the 2nd district of Capiz "however, I respect Senator Mar as senator."
"Castro is always visiting our town and he help us with whatever problems that we have", the lady mayor added.
She also clarified that she has no ill-feelings with Governor Tanco.
Jinon, was among the nine mayors of the 2nd district who failed to attend the Sinadya sa Halaran opening salvo on December 4 here.
Earlier, Mambusao Mayor Jose "Joe" Alba also clarified that he was not around during the opening of Sinadya sa Halaran with Senator Roxas since he was in Iloilo City to attend Solid Waste Management. Further still, Mayor Alba explained his absence due to the flash floods caused by the bad weather.
Yet Alba sent a representative to attend the December 6 Local Government Unit (LGU) Night at Capiz Gym.
"If we (mayors) in the 2nd district were absent during the opening salvo, the two congressmen of both 1st and 2nd district of Capiz were also not around," Alba pointed out.
It was only Sigma Mayor Maria Andaya from the second district who attended the opening ceremonies along with Senator Roxas, Governor Tanco and City Mayor Vicente Bermejo. Also present was Vice Mayor Ronnie Dadivas and five mayors of the 1st district of Capiz, and several members of the Capiz provincial board as well as city councilors and city village chiefs.
Tanco said that Sinadya sa Halaran celebration is not only his affair but it is also for other public officials and the entire Capiceños.
Castro and Jinon, who are members of Lakas-CMD, has since allied with Senator Roxas as president of Liberal Party (LP) every local and national elections.
