House rules at New Government Center bared
BACOLOD CITY -- City Building Administrator Reynaldo Ebreo confirmed yesterday that the city government had already set basic guidelines to follow for all employees detailed at the New Government Center (NGC).
Ebreo said that if previously the city government tolerated employees eating inside their offices and premises, this will no longer be allowed at the NGC to preserve the cleanliness and sanitation of the building.
Ebreo further said that the NGC will provide tables and chairs in their canteen to accommodate eating during lunch time.
He instructed all department heads during their meeting last week that each offices must avoid "octopus connection" and they must coordinate with the City engineers office to determine their power capacity.
Likewise, Ebreo will not allow cooking inside the offices because it is too hazardous. In an interview yesterday with the Bacolod City Hall Press Corp, Ebreo clarified that on his part, he will discourage vending inside the premises of the NGC to preserve the dignity of the offices because vending sometimes create an unhealthy atmosphere among the employees.
Ebreo also recommended to Mayor Evelio Leonardia to hire nine private security guards to secure the edifice and nine janitorial personnel to maintain cleanliness. The New Government Center is currently guarded by the Bacolod City Police Office and some personnel from the City Mobile Group.
The transfer of offices to the NGC was supposed to be done yesterday but it was reset to Dec. 23 after the Central Negros Electric Cooperative (Ceneco) is still on the process of installing power connection.
