LTO launches LTO-TV to protect transacting public from fixers
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has launched recently the LTO-TV that would protect the transacting public from fixers.
LTO assistant secretary Alberto Suansing said the LTO-TV would provide the public vital information on the transactions being made.
Suansing said it would be installed initially in all 55 branches of the agency in Metro Manila.
The TVs are connected online and real-time to the LTO Customer Management Project command center, the one that would feed audio visual materials to educate the public on traffic rules and regulations, step-by-step instructions on how to apply for a student permit, drivers license and vehicle registration procedures.
The project is in partnership with Trackworks and it (Trackworks) would finance the construction, development and roll-out of LTO-TV.
The government will not spend a single centavo in this project, the LTO chief added.
"Gone are the days when motorists would just be content with whatever service the LTO provides. The LTO today is more sensitive to customer needs, hence we have lined up a number of programs to our customer management facility which we believe would make transacting business with the LTO a more pleasant and a more memorable experience," Suansing said.
Suansing said the project will eliminate fixers since the public would be more aware of the actual business process flow within the LTO.
At the same time, Suansing also directed all LTO personnel to always project proper attitude towards their client or they would be sanctioned.
Starting next year, Suansing would require all employees to smile at all times, especially when talking to an LTO client, to further uplift the image of the agency as a more client-friendly office of the government.
The LTO chief made the announcement after receiving reports that there are some employees that are rude or don't even know how to smile when talking to clients.
The LTO would be strict in implementing these rules and regulations. (PNA)
