Puentevella vows to finish Sum-ag road before 2010
BACOLOD CITY -- Lone District Representative Monico Puentevella of this city vowed to finish the repair and rehabilitation of the Bacolod South-Sum-ag Road before 2010.
Construction work on the said road junction has been ongoing for several years and has caused inconvenience among motorists.
Puentevella appealed to commuters and riding public to bare the situation as they are working for the good of the city.
He said once the project is completed it will boost Bacolod City's standing as a progressive city.
The legislator together with some officials from the Department of Public Works and Highways made an inspection of the road project recently.
On the other hand, City Mayor Evelio Leonardia observed that the project has long been delayed as it started during the incumbency of former Congressman John Orola.
Leonardia has asked the City Councilor Roberto Rojas, Chairman of the Committee on Infrastructures, to look into the matter to address the concerns of the public.
Meanwhile, Puentevella vowed to pass more laws next year since this is his last term. He assured his constituents to pass at least 10 to 12 laws. The recent bill where he is the principal author is the Renewable Energy Bill which was recently signed into law by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
Puentevella said that he will work double time next year because he is anticipating for the Local and National Election in 2010. Puentevella also welcomed developments that many are aspiring to run for Congressman of Bacolod in 2010.
"I am happy that many are interested to run because I am satisfied for my nine (9) years in service and it's time for me to take a rest as Bacolod City Lone District Representative," Puentevella added. He also said that he will announce his political plans in an appropriate time because his preference is to work first since there are pending laws that need primordial attention.
