The Ms. Iloilo Dinagyang 2009 candidates

With the theme “Musa nga may Kawsa”, the Iloilo Dinagyang Foundation (IDF) through its Miss Iloilo Dinagyang 2009 Committee presented its 11 lovely Ilongga beauties vying for the title of Ms. Iloilo Dinagyang 2009 last Tuesday, Jan. 6 at the SM City Event Centre.
The presentation started with a dance number by the resident dancers of Ms. Iloilo Dinagyang '09.
Ben Jimena, Iloilo City Tourism Officer, said that this year's pageant will be of a good cause as it will benefit children with disabilities of BBY-TDC, the adopted children of the IDFI.
“This time, different innovations should be expected,” Doy Andrada, IDFI vice president, said.
Every candidate is representing a tribe. The tribes are Tribu Panaad, Tribu Taga-Jaro, Tribu Aninipay, Tribu Pag-asa, Tribu Tultugan, Tribu Bola-Bola, Tribu Ilonganon, Tribu Silak, Tribu Molave, Tribu Milagrosa and Tribu Paghidaet.

Each candidates prepared their advocacy speeches that touch on the environment, health, tourism, culture and heritage and education.
Everyone was surprised when the children of BBY-TDC, along with the candidates, dance.
Rowena Diaz, Ms. Iloilo Dinagyang'09 director, appreciated the effort done by these special children.
Ms. Diaz is inviting everyone to witness the coronation night of Ms. Iloilo Dinagyang '09 on Jan. 17, 7 pm at the Colegio de San Jose Auditorium.
