Multi-purpose vans worth P1.872M turned over to barangays
SAN JOSE, Antique – A 12 unit muti-purpose vans costing P156,000.00 each with a total cost of P1.872 Million were turned over to different barangays in the town of Patnongon; namely Magsaysay, Aureliana, Apgahan, Padang, Poblacion, Igbobon, La Rioja, Carit-an, Tamayoc, Igbarawan, Mabasa and Badiangan.
Mayor Henry Mondejar said that the purpose of the van donation is to deliver timely transport services to the barangay folks especially during emergency situations and other life-saving cases and improve access of these barangays to basic services.
With funding taken from the 20% development fund of the municipality, the cost covers registration and insurance of the vans.
Memorandum of Agreement between the beneficiaries and the Municipal Government was signed to ensure sustainability of the project including repair, maintenance and over-all equipment check up.
Governor Salvacion Z. Perez graced the turning over ceremony at the Municipal Gym of the town who likewise distributed Fortune Life Insurance Policy to all barangay captains, school bags to day care pupils and textbooks to selected elementary schools. (EO Crespo/Patnongon/PIA)
