Pagcor and PCSO's donations
The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor) and the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) disclosed in separate press conferences over the weekend that they have donated substantial amounts in the recently concluded Dinagyang Festival. But when asked by the media as to how much were their donations Pagcor and PCSO executives merely smiled and said “basta malaki”. Well for the sake of transparency we are calling on the Iloilo Dinagyang Foundation Inc. to publicly disclose the amount of donations from Pagcor and PCSO. Just like other sponsors there's no reason why the donations of the two government agencies should be kept secret.
Kawawang Jamby
Senator Jamby Madrigal was in Iloilo City last Sunday to celebrate with the Ilonggos the Dinagyang Festival. It was her first time to come back to Iloilo since she won as senator in the 2007 election. Unlike Senators Manny Villar, Bong Revilla and Migs Zubiri who were invited for interviews by the media at Freedom Grandstand left and right, nobody got interested to interview Senator Jamby. Sensing that her boss was not called for interviews Jamby's lady staff took the initiative of going down the media gallery and talk to television and radio stations to have her interviewed “kahit na recorded na lang.” Kawawang Jamby.
Larry & Mansing
Usec. Larry Jamora who is eyeing the mayorship of Iloilo City in next year's election is reportedly wooing former Mayor Mansing Malabor to be back into his arms. To recall, the erstwhile kumpadres had a strained relations after the 2004 elections due to money matters. Usec. Larry wanted Mansing to be the congressional candidate of his group with former City Councilor Joshua Alim as their vice mayoralty bet. It appears a Malabor-Jamora-Alim triumvirate is in the offing! Any comment JerTac?
