1,225 of PRO6 cops promoted
Increase in basic salary, fringe benefits, and bigger responsibilities are at stake with the promotion of police personnel. Thus, for the uniformed police personnel of Police Regional Office 6 (PRO6), a promotion for the next rank is a good news to begin the new year.
Effective December 31, 2008, PRO6 ordered the promotion of its 1,225 police non-commissioned officers (PNCOs) throughout the region.
PRO6 Director, Police Chief Superintendent Isagani R. Cuevas, disclosed that 495 were promoted to rank of Police Officer II (POII), 418 for POIII, 151 for Senior Police Officer I (SPOI), 20 for SPOII, 90 for SPOIII, and 51 for SPOIV.
Cuevas also said that the newly promoted personnel will not only enjoy the increase in salaries but also make them eligible for designations with higher accountability.
“There are assignments where the ranks of the designated PNCOs are not commensurate to the positions, hence this promotion will resolve this concern,” he stressed.
With their new ranks, the POII’s will receive a basic salary of P10,635.00; POIIIs will have P11,949.00; SPOI’s – P13,427.00; SPOII’s – P14,232.00; SPOIII’s – P15,087.00 and SPOIV’s – P15,992.00. Add to that are Long Pay, which takes effect every after 5 years of active service; subsistence allowance; and, hazard pay, among other fringe benefits.
“This promotion must boost the morale of our personnel and motivate them to perform well their respective tasks,” Cuevas on his message to the promoted police personnel. (POIII F.B. Lindero Jr)
