Bizman hits airline over delayed flight
ROXAS CITY – A businessman, who frequents Manila from Roxas City complained to the management of Cebu Pacific that its flight is always delayed for at least one hour from schedule causing him to miss his appointments in Manila.
Cesar Cobrador, top man of AGAP, told The News Today (TNT) that aside from the delayed flight of its aircraft, some personnel of the said airline company are arrogant in dealing with its passengers.
In a four-page complaint addressed to Ivan Gaw, Manager-Customer Service of Cebu Pacific Operations Center Bldg. in Domestic Road, Pasay City, Cobrador stated that he was a ticket holder with reservation no. X91GXW and boarding pass 12B/74 on January 15, 2009. The scheduled time of flight was 9:00 a.m.
According to Cobrador, he actually boarded the aircraft at 10:30 a.m. He added that final boarding was 11:15 making the flight schedule delayed for more than two hours, thus, he was not able to meet his appointments.
He added that in Roxas City airport, his nephew Marcelo D.P. Cobrador whom he requested to have his ticket checked-in was refused because of the policy that the passenger shall be the one to personally check-in.
“So my nephew and I went to check-in. As I was showing my ID for validation, I noticed that my nephew and one of the counter personnel, allegedly Mr. Gamboa, were having an altercation,” he said. His nephew told him that Mr. Gamboa was arrogant.
In response, Gaw apologized to Cobrador for the delayed flight of the Cebu Pacific aircraft. According to him, he found out that the reason why the flight was delayed was due to the late arrival of the turn-around aircraft.
He also said that the complaint of Cobrador against its ground staff was already brought to the attention of the Airport Service Department. He added that the concerned agent will be counseled and reminded to ensure that no similar incident will happen again.
Cobrador appreciated Gaw’s apology and he urged the latter to improve its services.
However, Cobrador said that the apology cannot compensate for the appointments that he had missed in Manila. “I think I’m not the only victim of the delayed flight but many others,” he said.
