Franchising: Good option to would-be entrepreneurs
Want to go into business? Consider franchising.
This was one of the options offered to participants of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-sponsored Basic Entrepreneur seminar as part of the “A Responsive and Innovative Strategy for Entrepreneur,” (ARISE) program of the agency here.
“With a franchise you don’t need to promote your product vigorously,” DTI Business Development Division OIC- Engr. Engiemar Tupaz, said adding that with P100,000 to P150,000 capital a potentially lucrative business can be opened
Business experts are looking at the 80 million population market in the Philippines with a good pool of managerial and skilled people that could qualify the country as a haven for franchise ventures.
A franchise normally has a ready standardized package for marketing, training of people, product and product development plus technical support to their partners making business simple for those who are interested in the enterprise.
Franchise leaders in the country claim that franchising has proven to stand the test of time in a good and bad economy in many countries including the Philippines.
Meanwhile, the five industries in the province that offer good business opportunity include: manufacturing- garments, gifts, furniture, house ware and metal crafts; tourism; food; agriculture-high value crops and aquaculture.
