Mentally-ill person who killed brod and hacked godson found dead
ROXAS CITY – A mentally-ill person, who hacked his younger brother to death and seriously injured his godson last Sunday, February 22, was found dead inside a drainage tunnel on Monday.
Roxas City police investigators told The News Today that Luisito Angeles, 43, of Bayot Drive, this city was found dead inside the cylindrical tunnel at the Mongpong and Inzo Arnaldo’s boundary.
Last Feb. 22, the suspect ran amok while at the wake of a relative in Philippine Railway Street Brgy. IX this city. He first hacked his brother Tirso Angeles, 37, of the same place and his 12-year old godson Ricky Abaracoso.
The suspect hacked Tirso while playing a basketball while Abaracoso was also hacked while playing computer at the said place.
Tirso sustained hack wounds on the different parts of his body and was almost beheaded, while Abaracoso suffered forehead wounds while his two hands were almost cut where he is now serious at the St. Anthony College Hospital.
It was believed that the suspect suffered from a nervous breakdown after failing to eat for three days.
After the incident, Angeles was apprehended by the police and several bystanders and he was immediately brought to the police station.
Police said that the suspect hurt himself by cutting his throat and different parts of his body. He was rushed to the Roxas Memorial Hospital for medical treatment.
However, inside the hospital, the suspect created a commotion so he was again brought to the Roxas City police Station.
While inside the detention cell, police said, Angeles banged his head several times on the concrete wall and the floor.
The police decided to bring him again in the hospital around 2 a.m. of Feb. 23 but while on board the police patrol car Angeles managed to jump and escaped.
The police chased Angeles towards Mejorada Subdivision where at around 8 a.m. of the same day, he was found dead inside the tunnel.
Police officer Orly Baril told TNT that the escape of the suspect was in the presence of his sisters, namely, Rehila Matio and Emelda Angeles.
