MRWD employees want Bercilla out
ROXAS CITY – Ninety out of 120 employees of the Metro Roxas Water District (MRWD) want Interim General Manager (IGM) Engr. Pablo Bercilla removed from office due to alleged wrong doings he had committed.
In a four-page petition letter addressed to Orlando Hondrade of the Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA), which was obtained by The News Today (TNT), the employees claimed that Bercilla shouted invective words to several employees in public and while attending the flag ceremony that downgrades the morale of the employees concerned.
The also claimed that Bercilla gravely abused his office by being absent always; divides the unity of the employees by according favoritism to some other few employees; the rule on promotion was not observed fairly; and that he is already an over-staying IGM of the MRWD.
They also said that because of Bercilla's acts they have low morale that make them ineffective in the performance of their public duties.
They also said that Bercilla appointed employees to several positions disregarding the rights of other more deserving employees.
Petitioners added that Bercilla lacks the quality and traits of a leader by being untactful and failing to look after the welfare of his men but only his personal aggrandizement as the IGM of the MRWD.
“He wasted the money of the MRWD by making personal trips to Manila using the water district funds,” the petitioners said.
The employees appealed to the public to join their sentiments in seeking the removal and replacement of Bercilla so that better public service could be efficiently rendered to the member-consumers.
Bercilla was appointed by the LWUA three years ago after there was a conflict between Ms. Carmen Andrade, chairman of the board, and former IGM Medardo Pestano.
Meanwhile, Bercilla was not reached for comment regarding the issue as of press time.
The petition was furnished to Sen. Mar Roxas, Hon. Prospero Pichay, Chairman, Board of Trustees LWUA; City Mayor Vicente Bermejo and MRWD office.
