PRO-6 braces up for summer vacation and Holy Week
The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO6) Director, Police Chief Superintendent Isagani R. Cuevas, directed all police stations to put up public assistance centers in terminals and highways as the country approaches summer vacation and Holy Week celebration.
The public assistance centers are meant to help motorists, commuters, and vacationers, have safe travels.
Pursuant to Oplan Bantay Lakbay, the PNP gears up for tightened security by fielding more police personnel in seaports, airports and bus terminal.
“We are expecting the increase in volume of commuters as students go home for summer break and other people return to their hometowns for vacation,” Cuevas said.
The public assistance centers are also expected to respond to vehicular problems and accidents.
Cuevas disclosed that since last week, additional policemen have already been deployed at bus terminals for many people have started traveling ahead of the Lenten break.
There will also be some personnel on mobile roaming at residential communities to deter robbery and theft cases.
Cuevas reminded also the public to properly lock their doors and windows and unplug electrical equipment to avoid being victims of robbery and fire incidents.
The region’s police force will be in Full Alert status during the Holy Week.
