Cuartero mayor declares support to Castro, Bolante
CUARTERO, Capiz – Mayor Roger Flores of this town said that Mrs. Jane “Inday Babay” Castro, wife of Rep. Fredenil Castro of the 2nd district, and former Department of Agriculture (DA) Undersecretary Jocelyn “Jocjoc” Bolante are his bets for congresswoman and governor, respectively in the 2010 elections.
Flores endorsed them during the barangay night at Barangay Agcabugao annual fiesta in the said town last Tuesday night.
“I decided to support Jocjoc Bolante as the next governor and Mrs. Jane “Inday Baby” Castro as the next congresswoman because Cuartero town was neglected by the present provincial officials,” Flores said.
Earlier, nine mayors from the 2nd district pledged support for Castro and Bolante.
Castro and Bolante thanked Flores and the people of the said town for their endorsement and support.
Rep. Fredenil Castro, who is Lakas-Kampi, has coalition with Liberal Party of Sen. Mar Roxas for almost nine years, however, the latter’s trusted man in the person of Mr. Emmanuel “Tawi” Billones has endorsed former PNP Chief Roberto “Bobby” Lastimoso who is the probable opponent of Castro's wife in the next election.
Billones vowed to support Lastimoso along with businessman Roberto “Nonong” Palomar, who recently declared to run against incumbent Tapaz Mayor Rosemarie Gardose. Gardose is also an ally of Rep. Castro.
A reliable source told The News Today (TNT) that Lastimoso, Gov. Victor Tanco, Sr. and Palomar would be the bets of Sen. Mar Roxas instead of Castro’s group in the 2nd district.
Earlier, Provincial Administrator Zoe Herrera clarified that the USWAG Capiz coalition is still intact and that there is no breakaway faction among its allies.
