Change of leadership at Ceneco
BACOLOD CITY – A sudden change of leadership happened at Central Negros Electric Cooperative (Ceneco) over the weekend.
Engr. Ed Gasambelo, voted upon by majority of the Board of Directors, took the presidency from Atty. Vicente Sabornay who was placed under a 30-day suspension along with Ceneco general manager Engr. Erlo Sajo.
Director Boy Cuenca now sits as Vice President and Secretary and Mr. Roberto Montelibano as Treasurer.
With this development, Gasambelo assured that Bacolod's New Government Center (NGC) will now have a power connection.
He said the government center is where citizen’s welfare is being served, thus he has no objection as to the installation of power in the said government building.
Mayor Evelio R. Leoanardia welcomed the development saying it’s good that finally the government center will get energized.
Leonardia said: It’s actually long overdue. This electrification of the new government center will encourage investments in the city. This will also increase employees’ efficiency as this will improve the working condition.
This will also hasten the transfer of the employees and offices in the new government center, the mayor added.
Leonardia said that once this electrification is fully completed, he will invite everybody – for or against the electrification of the new government center – to come during the switch on rites.
Meanwhile, Gasambelo said they will create an investigating body that will probe the alleged wrongdoing of the former Ceneco President.
Gasambelo complained against Atty. Sabornay for allegedly taking side on the temporary restraining order on the postponement of the elections in District III.
